Luck does not always favor everyone. That’s why, despite hitting rock bottom from time to time, we manage to rise and carry on.
This is identical to what happened to Joo Coelho Guimares. Everyone assumed he was a 45-year-old homeless man until his transforming images went viral.
And all it took was a single day to change his fate. His friendly barber offered him a shave and trim, which he gratefully accepted.
“We asked him whether he was hungry and if he wanted something to eat when he arrived. He, on the other hand, refused and asked if we had a razor so he could shave his beard. That’s when we came up with the concept, and everyone in the store decided to help him in a different way by giving him a day of beauty,” Alessandro told the media portal UOL.
Joo was given a fresh lease on life by the barber. He changed Joo’s clothes and shoes, gave him a haircut and trim, and washed him. Because he had a family who believed Joo had been dead for ten years, this new look flipped his life upside down.

Alessandro, the shop owner, was asked about the generous event. “We chose to assist him since we recognized his dire need. Over the last two months, we’ve become friends with him. We greeted him and offered him the complete experience when he requested for a razor.”

Alessandro was asked if he participates in similar events on a regular basis. “We have various social assistance projects, and it is quite satisfying for us to be able to assist individuals, no matter who they are. Many people lost loved ones during the pandemic, while others were left with financial hardships. In such a trying time, a little assistance is always appreciated.”

Alessandro refused to inquire as to why Joo had left his home. “I didn’t want to get into the why he left home debate. He surely have his reasons, but all we wanted to do was offer him some dignity at the time.”
