When you think of the beauty and modeling industries, the first thing that springs to mind is flawless models modeling apparel, makeup, and jewelry. These industries have established standards for how women should appear in the world. Slimness, height, beautiful hair, skin, symmetry, and many more factors contribute to perfection.
However, this has harmed society. People who do not have the expected, homogeneous appearance that mainstream marketing portrays are deemed unattractive. This has been ingrained in women’s brains as a marketing tool for cosmetic corporations, plastic surgeons, and other things. Most large corporations use these uncertainties as a strategy to keep their operations afloat. However, there are breakouts in society that call into question the advertised beauty standards from time to time. This is a story about a time when humanity’s natural beauty was captured on film in a magnificent way. Meet Kennedy Garcia, who is currently a model for a few different brands. Scroll down to see this incredible girl who continues to defy these made-up beauty standards.
