These two cats, Xafi and Auri, are grey domestic cats who have amassed over 100,000 Instagram followers. They have gorgeous grey fur coats and wonderful emerald eyes that captivate anybody who sees them.

These two are raised by their human owners, Annaken and Tim. Because the cats appear to be nearly identical, the owners distinguish them using minute factors such as the length of their ears and the shape of their bodies.

Even though Xafi, born in April of 2016, is a year older than Auri, the sisters by blood look like twins as they have grown to the same size. But while fans are confused, the beautiful cats’ paw-rents, UK-based Annaken and Tim, have their tricks to tell the grey cats apart. “Auri has a rounder face, wider ears, and slightly darker fur. Xafi has a more angular face with slightly taller ears. Their “Meow” is also distinctly different as is the way they both move and act. Auri also looks a lot more muscular and toned even though they are exactly the same weight: 3.5kg,” the couple notes.

Their proprietors manage and update Auri’s and Xafi’s social media pages on a daily basis. Previously, their poses were not very Instagram-friendly. But, as time went on, they became more at ease and amusing in front of the camera. Even though Tim and Annaken tried to get their cats to pose for photos, they now prefer their cats to be in their natural state since the shots are more “organic.”

Despite the cute cats’ identical appearances, their personalities are worlds apart: Xafi is more cuddly and fuzzy, whilst Auri, who has earned the nickname “Klepto-Cat” for stealing everything in her sight, is cheeky and naughty. “Whereas Xafi is human-centered, Auri is self-sufficient. Xafi is clumsy, but Auri is athletic. When Xafi wants cuddles, he demands them loudly, but Auri requests in a very soft and calm manner. But they’re both the sweetest, most loving girls I’ve ever met,” Anneken explains.

The temperaments of the Insta-famous cats have an impact on their modeling. While Xafi is camera shy, Auri thrives on the spotlight and has learned some impressive poses. “It took me a long time to master the art of photographing cats. It’s difficult to acquire images of the two of them together. To persuade them to posture and gaze into the camera, we utilize goodies and toys. I’m taking fewer and fewer of these types of images these days – I prefer capturing them in their natural habitat, simply doing their cat-things,” cat mom Anneken told Bored Panda.

In 2018, they welcomed a new member to the family in the form of a cat. Errol, a Somalian cat, joined the gang and fit right in. Errol, like the twins, is now an Insta-famous cat!

And, while Anneken and Tim argued whether getting a new fluffball was a wise decision, he brought a fresh energy to the house and fit right in. On the cat’s own blog, Errol is characterized as a “purring, meowing feeding machine with unlimited energy and slobbery tendencies.” He is also a rising Instagram celebrity with 114k stolen hearts.

Tim, Errol’s cat-dad, is in charge of his Instagram account, while Anneken, Errol’s cat-mom, is in charge of the Russian Blue duet. Isn’t it true that healthy rivalry has its place? In reality, they’ve got it all figured out: Anneken is in charge of social media, and Tim is in charge of videography. And as long as they share Anneken’s goal of “capturing their unique selves through the lens,” they will continue to warm the hearts of cat lovers all over the world.
