A new Emirates Airlines ad from the United Arab Emirates recently went viral on social media. The advertisement celebrates the UK government’s decision to add the UAE to its “amber” travel list. However, the said ad is unique not only because of that; the fact that it was shot at the very top of the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, is what made it go viral.
The ad zooms in on Nicole Smith-Ludvik, dressed as a cabin crew member in the iconic red Emirates hat and uniform, standing atop the building’s tallest point at an altitude of 828 meters. It was mentioned that climbing from level 160 to the very top of the building took over an hour. Emirates Airlines’ ad was dubbed one of the “highest ads ever filmed” in the UAE.
However, as with everything else, the ad drew criticism, with some assuming the company used a green screen and the video was fake. To clear up any misunderstandings, Emirates has released behind-the-scenes footage demonstrating how this seemingly impossible feat was accomplished with just one drone.
So, Pandas, how do you feel about this? Would you be brave enough to scale the Burj Khalifa to the very top?
