Christian Vieler, a German photographer, is back with more hilarious photos of dogs attempting to catch treats (see previous post here). The photographer captures the exact moment a dog receives – or misses – a treat thrown in the air, and the doggos’ facial expressions, which range from exuberance to confusion, are epic.
Though a dog has around 100 different facial expressions, they are often subtle and difficult for us, humans, to distinguish. However, using freeze-frame, Vieler was able to capture the many grins of these amusing dogs.
“At every shoot, I’m looking for that one specific moment when you can get the funniest or cutest dog grins,” says the photographer “Vieler told Bored Panda about it. “Dogs’ faces with magnificent lineaments, telling us stories of panic, desire, and joy – that can only be seen with the power of freezing motion.”
Since 2012, when he bought a new camera, Vieler, who is also a journalist, has been photographing dogs. “With every dog visitor in my studio, I take a photo. Some dog photos are pretty good, while others aren’t, and a few are truly stunning.”
