Do bears go for a swim in the woods? The giant animal companion that a Russian woman rescued from a safari park enjoys going fishing with her in Russian forest lakes.

On a boat in Russia, an adorable rescued brown bear and his owner are fishing together.

In their hometown of Novosibirsk, in southern Siberia, Archie the bear and Veronika Dichka enjoy ‘fishing’ together on the forest lake.

Veronika rescued Archie 2 years ago from a safari park that was closing down and now keeps him as a pet.

The two are just like any other friends, enjoying each other’s company, and a video captures their time on the water. Veronika is seen hugging her furry friend while holding fishing rods.

Veronika waited for any bites with her fishing rods in hand, while Archie managed to resist the urge to jump in & hunt the food for himself.

‘He sees-me as a member of his family, we share food, [he] sleeps in my arms when he’s scared, and he hides behind me,’ Veronika said.

We rescued him from a safari park, but because he has spent his entire life in captivity, we are unable to release him into the wild.’Archie spends everyday with us and is obsessed with water.

He enjoys it when I take him to new places, so he thoroughly enjoyed this shoot!’
